A Danish Dream

A Danish Dream

5 Yıl Önce

Hello guys! My name is Musa from Diyarbakır. First of all I want to thank Diyarbakır ÇEVKA to give me an opportunity to go to Denmark and live a fantastic experience. Going to Europe with ÇEVKA is a wonderful way to see the world, learn more about different cultures, ways of life and to really make an impact in the countries that you visit. I had a lot of experiences at the project, which called ‘Time for Dialog’ in Nysted, Denmark. I’ve been 3 times in Denmark before this project but this time is quite different. It was an amazing atmosphere there. And I always say that it is a big chance for me to meet ÇEVKA. I went to Nysted with my wife and it was a great experience for us. Firstly we met another people who are from Turkey. Then we got the chance to meet amazing people who are called Seda and Daniel. They are such a helpful, friendly and kindly people and I want to say thank them again. We were near 50 people from Denmark, Turkey, Italy, Check Republic and Lithuania and it was a great ambience to learn other cultures, languages, foods, and traditions. First of all, you have to be volunteer and open minded, if you join like this project. It needs to be ask: Why do we go volunteering abroad? Is it for helping others, to travel, to learn something about ourselves or to meet other, like-minded people? Probably it’s a mix of everything, but we would like to talk about making friendships which may add enormous value to your mission of volunteering abroad. Although this is not something you can really plan and foresee (“oh, during this trip I am definitely going to meet me best friend for life!”), chances that you will meet interesting people are really high. Why? Here are a few reasons: You and other attenders have decided to embark on a volunteering abroad trip to help others - and that’s already a good sign and a great beginning. Taking part in such a form of holidays means that most probably you share similar values with other attenders and that you have a lot in common, and when you have a lot in common with another person, there is a great chance of making a real friendship. Finally I want to say, it was a crazy dream to be in Denmark with 50 different people and Diyarbakır ÇEVKA made it real. I feel that I’ve an amazing huge family and I am a part of this family. I hope, I can get more chance to join other projects and this fantastic dream never ends. Sincerely yours! Musa ilya
