Erasmus + Project in which Turkiye,Norway, Lithuania, Germany participated in Gaspustua was a great experience that raised awareness on ‘Human Rights’. Firstly, the Project started with icebreaker activities which helped all participants get to know each other in a while. Next, workshop activities were carried out concerning social exclusion, hate speech, discrimination, prejudice by mixing the participants of each country. The participants discussed questions, brainstormed ideas, identified problems and developed solutions. They were motivated to learn from each other being interacted in a mix-intercultural environment. The participants having shared kinds of cultural and life experience related to ‘Human Rights’ dwelt on freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom of media,freedom of gender, freedom of diversity, unity etc… ‘Cultural Evening’ was another unforgettable event. The participants of each country made a presentation about their history and then introduced some kind of food, snacks, beverages which belong to their own culture. As Turkish Group we offered baklava, halva, sarma, Turkish delight, nuts with Turkish coffee and tea. On the other hand, we thaught each participant how to dance ‘Damat Halayı’ ,which is a folk dance Turkish people dance when there is a wedding ceremony. Everyboy had fun dancing and laughing in the end. We also prepared ‘Karaoke’ playing Turkish songs. The participants were eager to sing those songs, and really good at singing. As a result of ‘Cultural Evening’ everybody learnt and experienced about each country’s history, traditional food and culture. Besides Cultural Evening, ‘Oscar Night’ was organized. The participants of each country were supposed to make a video on’ Human Rights’ to be nominated during the Oscar Night. Therefore, the judge would choose the best acting,the best editing, the best actor and best actress , the winner would be announced at the end of the night as well.Additioanlly, there was award! Youth Exchange Programme also included ‘one free day’,which we made the most of it going to Vikingskipet in Hamar for iceskating.Some of the participants experienced iceskating for the first time in their life. Last but not least, the place where we accomodate was just like in a fairytale atmosphere in the middle of fascinating nature surrounded with snow.Almost everybody went for a walk and hiking in the forest despite the freezing cold weather (-5 to -15 degrees)The rooms were hot enough and the fireplace was amazing.Furthermore,the food they served was delicious at all times ,particularly the salmon fish.
