When I arrived at the island, I didn't know how the project was going to be because it was my first Erasmus+ project. So, I didn't know what to expect from the project. But I was excited to meet with other cultures and learn about them. First days we learned about the topic, and we played a lot of games to warm up to each other. The topic was media, and it is very important in Turkey because Turkey is one of the countries that use media most. Especially in social media use, Turkey has become one of the countries that has the most screen time. So, it is important to raise the social awareness of people on how to use the media right. I did learn a lot of useful things in this project and also learned the differences in media usage in other countries. The most interesting activity for me was where we discussed the freedom of speech in every country because everyone has different ideas about the definition of freedom of speech and what its extent is. Also, I liked the game where we ranked people by their personality because everyone had different ideas depending on their cultural morals. In general, I really enjoyed my time on the island, meeting with people from other cultures, and learning the true usage of media. I think Erasmus+ projects are the best way to exchange cultures with other countries. Cultural nights were always interesting and one of the best activities in the project. I hope to be back on the island one day, but I know it will not be the same. Additionally, I believe that the friendships formed during this project will endure, serving as a lasting testament to the power of cultural exchange initiatives. Hope to see everyone again.
