Hello everyone, I want to thank Diyarbakır Çevka for this amazing opportunity. It was a dreamy 10 days.The project realized in Sint Maarten, which took place between 15-26 February, was very informative and full of experience. The topic of the project was "Recovery-New Start". The goal was to educate participants about infectious diseases and make people concious about what we learned. My trip to the Caribbean took longer than some. I had three flights, two with propeller planes which was a great experience. When arriving, the first thing you notice is the weather. It seemed like there is no winter in Sint Maarten. You only need a short and a shirt, I never used my coat. The participants were from Germany, Macedonia, Turkey and natives of the Island. We did many activities on the subject of the project and had fun with it. In our free times we traveled, hiked on the border, swam in some of the best beaches, met locals, saw iguanas and monkeys, tried local dishes. I had my first ribs with barbecue sauce, fried banana, fried sweet potatoes and so on. All the locals on the island are very friendly, and talked to me like we knew each other. Lucky for us there was a festival when we were on the island, the music and the costumes were colorful. We also went to some latin nights and danced. There has been many firsts in this amazing project. I can’t thank enough to Çevka for this opportunity.
