Hey everyone! This is Ece, 24 years old theatre artist from Turkey. I got the chance to participate in the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange Project called Capture Nature, which took place in Sint Maarten between 19 Nov-28 Nov. This is my second youth exchange project. The project was about ecology, preserving nature, and photography. We did activities like ice Breaking games, name remembering games, and created a gossip box and a secret friend envelope. We created a pano for fears, expectations, and contributions which we evaluated later at the end of the project. We did team-building activities and various energizers. We chose a politician and promoted our campaign. We played a game called mission impossible. We created a schedule for meeting each other and chatting. We organized a cultural night, played games, and tasted different cultural foods and drinks. The schedule was not too busy and we had a ton of free time to explore the island. We visited Simpson Bay, Phillipsburg, Maho Beach, Mullet Beach, and many other places. In Phillipsburg, there was a Bazaar with interesting items. Some of us bought gifts for loved ones there. We went hiking and visited the French side of the island. The scenery was mesmerizing. Sint Maarten’s unique nature was never to be forgotten. For me, the most prominent part was the white sand. It makes water seems even bluer! We took a ton of photos and shared them in our Facebook group. We went to different nightclubs. I did not really like Lotus Nightclub but it depends on your pickiness in terms of music and atmosphere. My favorite one was Mykonos! I am more of a raver than a clubber but I liked the music there. The genre was mainly electro-house. We went to Pinel Island and fed the iguanas there. They are friendly if you have got some food to offer. Otherwise, they do not bother to come closer to you. :) There are many activities that you can do in your free time. It is up to you. You can spend your time however you like it! I enjoyed the group dynamic and we got along really well. I made life-long friendships and I am grateful for this opportunity.
