24 Şubat - 8 Mart Norveç Gençlik Değişim Projesi

2 Yıl Önce

The Norwegian erasmus+ project on 'Back to Normalisation', which took place between February 24 and March 8, 2022, was the first youth exchange project I participated in. Therefore, I had the opportunity to have a much different and much better experience than I had anticipated. First of all, I didn't feel far from home, thanks to the host organizers. They did their best to make us feel more comfortable, but above all, I felt that I was friends with them, and that made me very happy. Frankly, before I went to Norway, my primary expectation was to see Norway and get to know Norwegian culture, since I did not know much about how these projects worked. But I did not take into account that I would spend time together in a house with different people from 6 different countries, from breakfast in the morning until I went to sleep in the evening, and that it would give me so much pleasure. There, I spent 12 days away from real life for a while, and my only responsibility was to get to know new people and cultures. My daily responsibilities, which are different than the activities, were generally similar to this: I woke up in the morning and started learning about the famous TV series and movies in Poland, and then I asked my Lithuanian friend to teach me traditional dances after I learned what words we share in common with Macedonia. If I mention the activities, they contained stimulating and enjoyable tasks that encouraged teamwork and helped me overcome my fear of public speaking. For example, we made a joint picture with teams of 6 on a single page to see if we can work as a team. Due to our subject, we performed in the theater and made a short film about Covid-19 as a group. Then, various awards were given to those films at the Oscar night we held. We gave a Tedx speech. It was the activity that made me the most nervous because when I stepped on the stage, I wasn't sure if I could express myself as I wanted in English on a given topic at that moment. After giving my speech, I thought about how necessary it was to perform this activity to overcome my fear. If I had come to Norway only as a tourist and traveled by my own means, I would never have been aware of what this project could bring me. It only lasted 12 days but left me with experiences I will remember for a lifetime. I have made a lot of friends from different parts of the world. They all invite me to their countries. I will host a friend of mine from Poland next week in Istanbul. To be frank, in the project I went to see Norway, I didn't pay much attention to the places I visited in the 2 free days given to us to tour around, because while I was visiting there, the conversation with the people next to me started to feel more enjoyable. Thank you for everything ÇEVKA, I hope I get a chance to experience such an opportunity again.
