Greetings, I go by the name of Irem, representing Türkiye as a participant in this noteworthy project. "The OVERCOME initiative seeks to heighten awareness among young individuals regarding mental health challenges linked to the COVID-19 pandemic. It also endeavors to instill healthy habits that cater to both physical and mental well-being. Employing interactive and multicultural non-formal education methods, the project plans to immerse 60 young minds in hands-on activities spanning 11 days. These activities include hiking, team sports, yoga, meditation, and the therapeutic benefits of laughter. The project boasts three primary objectives: (1) inspiring subtle yet impactful behavioral shifts to address mental health issues tied to the pandemic, (2) engaging young participants in both physical and mental learning experiences, and (3) enlightening young individuals from partner communities on the significance of comprehending mental health matters and endorsing healthy habits through locally organized events supported by project participants and partnering organizations. Aligned with the Erasmus+ for Youth goals, the OVERCOME project provides young people with opportunities for non-formal learning through direct experiences. Its mission is to boost the motivation, self-esteem, and initiative of the 60 participants while fostering multiculturalism and tolerance. Additionally, the project aims to enhance the participants' English language proficiency and encourage their active engagement in global issues, especially those related to mental health amidst the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic. The project also strives to include young individuals with fewer opportunities, ensuring universal access to the benefits derived from this enriching learning experience." Through my involvement in this project, I honed various social skills, including attentive listening, keen observation, forming friendships, and embracing diverse cultures. Language-wise, I had the opportunity to enhance my English proficiency through engaging conversations. I forged meaningful connections with individuals from diverse countries, embarked on my first international journey, and savored the delightful flavors of Norwegian cuisine, particularly the exquisite salmon. These reflections are deeply personal. Returning to the project's scope; it delves into the mental well-being of young people during the Covid-19 era, offering insights into the impact of health challenges on daily life and relationships. Simultaneously, the process encompasses diverse elements such as humor, drama, games, and short films. A heartfelt thank you to all who contributed to this transformative project. Until we meet again.
